Oreck Vacuums

Oreck vacuums have been around since the 1960s. The Oreck Corporation was started by David Oreck in 1963. The company is based in New Orleans, Louisiana but the manufacturing plant is in Long Beach, Mississippi.

David Oreck originally started making Oreck Vacuums to sell them to the hotel industry. He saw how the cleaning ladies in hotels struggled with the vacuum cleaners so he made a vacuum that was just as powerful as the other vacuums but much lighter. His idea worked. In fact, Oreck vacuums are now used in over 50,000 hotels.

But Oreck vacuums are in households around the world too. Oreck vacuums are sold in the US, Canada, South America, Europe, and Asia. Keeping with the initial concept, all Oreck vacuums are light and powerful for their size.

The Oreck XL Upright is the most famous of the Oreck vacuums. The cost for an Oreck XL ranges from just below $300 (for an Oreck XL Classic) all the way up to over $700 (for an Oreck XL Titanium Series).

Oreck sells other vacuums as well including canisters, wet/dry vacs, and handheld vacuums.

Oreck vacuums sell very well throughout the world and are always rated highly in most vacuum cleaner reviews. In fact, over the last several years the Oreck Company has seen their profits go up dramatically. There light weight, powerful vacuums are very popular in hotels as well as homes.
